Up to TopStudent Health Services Offers Pilot Faculty and Staff On-Site Health Care Clinic
More and more companies and universities are putting health care clinics in the workplace, which means big savings. Some studies show businesses can cut health care costs by up to 30 percent. UNO's new On-Site Health Care Clinic, supported by Student Health Services, is a pilot healthcare program offered to all faculty and staff.
"The university wants to improve overall wellness in the work-place by assisting its faculty and staff with minor illness and screening services through an On-Site Health Care Clinic," said Marcia Adler, director of Student Health Services. "All UNO part-time and full-time faculty and staff will be able to use the services of the Clinic. All medical information will be kept confidential." Faculty and staff interested in utilizing this service should call (402) 554.2374 to ensure that a physician or nurse is available.
The pilot officially began June 1 and continues through Dec. 31. At the end of the pilot period, a decision will be made about whether the Clinic will be continued.
The benefits of offering On-Site Health Care Clinic services
to faculty and staff include:
- Improved access and convenience;
- Reduction of lost work time and improved employee productivity;
- Improved health outcomes both individual and aggregate;
- Promotion of wellness including importance of screening and prevention
services; and
- Increased employee retention, recruitment and morale.
