UNO's Live Healthy Nebraska Challenge Results
This
event has been designated a UNO Mav-Rec Wellness event.
Congratulations are in order for everyone who made it through the Live
Healthy Nebraska Challenge. Approximately 28 UNO teams took part in the
challenge with a total of 179 participants.
At UNO, the total weight loss equaled 474 pounds. Activity time totaled more than 6,582 minutes. Each team averaged 243 minutes and 48 seconds.
"Way to go! I hope everyone enjoyed the challenge and is looking forward to participating again in the fall," said Kristen O'Brien, student wellness coordinator for Human Resources. "Watch eNotes in the upcoming months for more information regarding the next challenge and keep up the good work!"

UNO men's soccer coach Jason Mims will host the first annual UNO Soccer Academy One Day College ID Camp, this
Sunday, June 5, at the Chili Greens Dome.
The camp is designed for 9th graders and up who aspire to compete collegiately.

Woman Participants Sought for Fit Minded Program
This
event has been designated a UNO Mav-Rec Wellness event.
If you are a woman who enjoys reading, being social and desired to
be healthy, Jennifer Huberty, associate profess in the School of Health,
Physical Education and Recreation, invites you to join the fourth session of
Fit Minded physical activity club. Formerly known as research study 'Women
Bound to Be Active,' Fit Minded empowers women to become physically active by
focusing on increasing self-worth and physical activity through a book club
format.
Through reading and discussion, Fit Minded provides women skills and strategies so that they can be active on their own for a lifetime. Fit Minded also offers an online component, which includes resources, blogging and chatting activity tracking and much more.
Session 4 of Fit Minded starts Tuesday, June 7. Members meet for one hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Thompson Alumni Center Board Room until Tuesday, Dec. 13. Fit Minded is facilitated by Dr. Jennifer Huberty and her team.

Up to TopIS Offers Adobe Connect 8.0 Brownbag This Friday
UNO Information Services (IS) will host an Adobe Connect Brownbag Friday, June 3, in the Milo Bail Student Center Council Room from noon to 1 p.m. Join IS staff for a demonstration and see how Connect 8 can benefit you.
The Brownbag will demo Adobe Connect 8.0 a web collaboration, e-learning system used at UNO to conduct online classes, meetings and presentations with participants worldwide. Connect sessions can be live and/or recorded for 24/7 playback. Each session can incorporate, audio, video, slide presentations, white boards, website display, polls, file exchange and desktop sharing. And its new user interface makes creating online classes even easier.
In short, most of the instructional technologies used in on-campus classes are available in Adobe Connect for teaching online.
