More than 1,700 students graduated Friday (May 6) at UNO's May Commencement program with 1,150 crossing the stage at Omaha's Civic Auditorium. Former UNO student regent Michael Crabb was the commencement speaker while UNO graduate Katherine English was presented with the Citation for Alumni Achievement.
Compensation Statements Released Today
UNO Human Resources will release total compensation and benefits statements today, May 12. All faculty and staff will receive their statements through campus mail.
The statements are a comprehensive overview of an individual's total compensation (pay and benefits) from the University of Nebraska. The benefits package is an important part of the total compensation that each faculty and staff member receives from the university.
Information listed in the statements is as of Dec. 31, 2010. This year's statement also includes a side-by-side comparison of the compensation and benefits for 2009 and 2010.

Parking Lot Maintenance Work Starts Monday
Starting Monday, May 16, annual parking lot maintenance work at UNO begins. All lots will be crack-sealed and re-striped, and Lots Q and S will be also be seal coated.
Faculty, staff and students can expect various parking lot closures during this maintenance work, which should be completed by mid-June

UNO Grad Student Remounts Adaptation of Cather Short Story
UNO graduate student Julia Hinson has remounted her adaptation of Willa Cather's short story Eric Hermannson's Soul at UNO.
The adaptation is a narrative piece, which examines the social forces that compel us to conform - or deviate - from society.
Eric Hermannson's Soul runs Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14 in Room 006 in the Weber Fine Arts Building on the UNO campus. The Weber Fine Arts Building is west of UNO's Criss Library. Read more.
UNO Bookstore Summer Hours
The UNO Bookstore’s hours of operation for summer are:
* Open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays; and
* Open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Regular hours resume August 23. The bookstore will also be closed May 24 though 27, May 30 and July 4.
Summer textbook buy back days will be June 22 and 23 and Aug. 10 and 11. The bookstore will stay open until 6 p.m. for buy backs.
KANEKO-UNO Library Closed Today, Tomorrow
The KANEKO-UNO Library will be closed to patrons today and Friday, May 12 and 13, due to the Big Omaha conference. However, if anyone needs access to the materials found only at this library during this time period, please call (402) 932.3486 and appropriate arrangements will be made.Up to Top
Exhibit on Book Arts Takes Place Friday
Marvel Maring, an associate professor in Criss Library, will have an exhibition of book arts work at the Fred Simon Gallery, 1004 Farnam St. from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13.
The showing is at the Nebraska Arts Council Gallery in the lower level of the Burlington Building. More information is available online here.
UNO Equestrian Golf Scramble
The UNO Equestrian team is hosting a fundraiser golf scramble on Saturday, May 21 at Tiburon Golf Club. All proceeds will benefit the UNO Equestrain team.
