Four-hundred students took part last week in the last Maverick MOJO program of the school year. The event, held at UNO's Scott Hall, ran from 9 pm until midnight on Thursday, April 28. One of the strategies of the program is to reduce the high risk of drinking among students. Participants were treated to a full breakfast and entertainment.
2011 UNO-Diet Pepsi Women's Walk Raises $4 Million

In its 26th year, the UNO Women's Walk raised $240,000 for scholarships for female athletes, helping the event cross the $4 million mark all-time.
'Highlight the Need' Drive for Salvation Army Ends Today
In an effort to support the Salvation Army's Back-to-School Backpack Program, the UNO Staff Advisory Council (SAC) has launched a campus campaign, 'Highlight the Need,' to collect new highlighters of all colors and sizes for students in Omaha.
Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are encouraged to donate new highlighters at the UNO Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center. The collection ends today, May 9. The UNO Bookstore will sell highlighters four for $1; donations of new highlighters purchased off campus will also be accepted at the UNO Bookstore.
For the second consecutive year, UNO has engaged in a friendly competition with Creighton University. New to this year's school supply drive is College of Saint Mary. Read more.
Supporting Faculty Teaching in a Digital Age Workshop
All faculty are invited to a two-day interactive workshop highlighting key principles of a digital learning environment. Participants will learn strategies to redesign course elements for the purpose of engaging students and improving learning. This is an interactive workshop in which participants are expected to bring a course syllabus and work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and discuss areas for improvement in their courses.

Bike Omaha Commuter Challenge Now Underway
Looking for an excuse to get back on a bicycle? Need motivation to get more exercise? Want to reduce dependency on oil while saving money? Team UNO is looking for faculty and staff (including students employed by UNO) to participate in this year's Bike Omaha Commuter Challenge.
The Challenge started May 1 and ends Oct. 1. Anyone can join anytime during this period and any amount of bike-to-work commuting counts (both miles and number of trips). There are no meetings to attend, no practice required and plenty of bike parking available. For the past three years UNO has come in first place in its division in the city.

Outdoor Venture Center Announces Summer Schedule
The UNO Outdoor Venture Center has announced its summer classes, trips and workshops schedule. The 2011 schedule features trips to Apostle Islands, WI, Palisades State Park in South Dakota and several workshops held locally.
