Psychology Department to Host Fourth Biennial Conference on Relational Aggression June 15-16
The UNO Department of Psychology will host the 4th Relational Aggression Conference Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15-16, in the Milo Bail Student Center Chancellor's Room.
Relational aggression is the study of how children and adolescents use their relationships with others (e.g., peers, siblings) as the vehicle with which to harm others. It includes behaviors such as spreading mean rumors, threatening to dissolve a friendship and purposeful exclusion.
The conference will bring together some of the leading researchers on relational aggression and victimization from the U.S. and Canada. This year's theme is "Celebrating 15 years of research on relational aggression: Where has the field been and what does the future hold." Conference presenters will be addressing a number of topics including both basic and applied processes.
The two-day event is free and open to all faculty and students at UNO, with the exception of the dinner on Tuesday, June 15. Everyone is required to register in advance.
