Into the Time Capsule

Bennington Elementary students Joey Stevens and Jaiden Albright along with UNO student Caitlynn Gillaspie donned white gloves and helped UNO Chancellor John Christensen fill a time capsule that will be inserted into a wall of UNO's new Mammel Hall. More than a hundred items were collected for inclusion into the capsules at last Wednesday's (4-28) event. Included were a Maverick football jersey, a Chancellor's medal, a Durango bobblehead doll, a share of Berkshire Hathaway stock, two bottles of scotch and a package of Hostess Twinkies.
NeSIS Training/Overview Sessions Offered Today
The UNO Nebraska Student Information System (NeSIS) team will host several admissions training/overview sessions for faculty and staff who need a PeopleSoft SIS account. Walk-in help sessions for those who have access to the system will be announced soon.

Faculty Senate to Meet Today
The UNO Faculty Senate will meet today, May 12, in the Milo Bail Student Center Dodge Rooms. Mike McGinnis, executive director of The University of Nebraska Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI), will give a presentation on the "Future of PKI & UNO" at 2 p.m. The meeting will begin immediately after the presentation.
This is the last meeting of the academic year, and newly elected senators will assume their positions during the meeting. The meeting is open to anyone interested in attending.

Planned Dodge Location Electrical Outage
On Sunday, May 16, at 12:30 a.m., there will be a planned campus-wide electrical outage that will affect all buildings on the Dodge Location for approximately three hours. This planned outage is required so repairs can be made to the main electrical service entrance to the campus.

Golfers Sought for UNO Faculty/Staff Golf League
event has been designated a Mav-Rec Wellness event.
The UNO Faculty/Staff Golf League is looking for individuals who would like to start a team, join an existing team or become a sub for a team.
The league meets at Elmwood Park Golf Course on Thursday nights, May 13, through Aug. 12. The first tee time is 4 p.m. and the last is 4:45 p.m. It takes approximately two hours to complete a round. The league is open to all levels of golfers. Space is limited.

Summer Shuttle Schedule Under Way
The summer shuttle service now operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays. The shuttle will service the Dodge Location and Pacific Location only. There will be no shuttle service to the Crossroads Mall during the summer months.

Student Health Services Closed for HPER Move
Student Health Services (SHS) offices will be closed through Wednesday, May 19, during the department's move to the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Building.
SHS will open at its new location in HPER on Thursday, May 20. SHS staff looks forward to serving the UNO community at its new HPER location. Clinic office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
