High School Students Take Part in Summer Scholars Program

While one would be hard pressed to find a high school student going to college over the summer, 33 high school seniors from around the Omaha metropolitan area are doing just that at UNO.

The 33 students have converged on the university to take part in the 2009 Summer Scholars program. The five-week program, which began June 8, provides students with a taste of college life while educating them on what it will take to achieve their goals. Each student was awarded a scholarship for the program that covers the cost of three credit hours of college tuition plus student fees, books and a parking permit. Read more.
