Campus Technology Service and Power Outage This Sunday
UNO Facilities and Information Technology Services (ITS) staff will work on the final phase to upgrade the electrical service for the ITS data center in 008 Eppley Administration Building (EAB) to a whole room UPS and a natural gas-driven generator this weekend. These changes will provide a significant improvement in the stability of campus-wide technology services and greatly reduce future electrical outages.
To complete these projects only one scheduled power outage remains. The first outage involving all campus-wide technology services and electrical power to the Eppley Administration Building took place on Aug. 10. The second outage happens this Sunday, Aug. 17, and also includes all campus-wide technology services. The outage will start at 6 a.m. and end at noon.
Note: Students, faculty and staff may notice intermittent availability of campus-wide technology services from 9 a.m. to noon. ITS will be testing and adjusting systems during this time, so users should not rely on campus-wide technology services until noon on that day.
Anyone who has concerns about these outages or experiences problems with ITS services after noon on Aug. 17 should contact ITS Customer Services at 554.4357 (554.HELP) or email@example.com.
