Participants Sought for Gait Study at HPER Biomechanics Lab
Healthy subjects -- older adults above 65 years of age -- are needed to participate in a study taking place in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Biomechanics Laboratory. The study is investigating the effects of attention and perception on walking behavior.
Ideal participants should be over 65 years of age, right-handed, native English speaking and free from any lower limb orthopedic pathologies such as joint replacement or knee ligament injuries. Subjects would take part in two 1 ½ hour data collections that would involve a variety of tasks including walking, attention and verbal tasks, like reading words or naming pictures projected on a screen. For participation, subjects will receive a full analysis of their gait profile.
Data will be collected using the state-of-the-art laboratory-based motion capture system identical to the equipment used for motion picture special effects and video games. Collections will take place at a scheduled time during the next few weeks.
Further details will be provided to any interested parties. For further information, contact Sara Myers at 554.3225 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Dr. Leslie Decker at 554.3442 or email@example.com.
