FEMA Disaster Assistance Available

Homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage or losses in the recent Millard tornado or Iowa flooding disasters may be eligible for disaster aid. Government disaster assistance covers basic needs and will not normally compensate for an entire loss.

Mileage Reimbursement Rate Reminder

Effective with travel occurring on or after July 1, all mileage reimbursements for approved travel by personal automobile will be at the rate of fifty-eight and one-half cents ($.585) per mile. This rate should also be used when reimbursing visiting personnel or students for their travel.

Travel occurring on or before today, June 30, will be reimbursed at the old rate of fifty and one-half cents ($.505) per mile.

SHS Avian Flu Presentation Planned for July 15

Marcia Adler, R.N., with Student Health Services, will speak about avian flu Tuesday, July 15. The event begins at 9 a.m. in the Welcome Center Conference Room, 111 Eppley Administration Building.

PR Students Nab First Place at National Competition

The American Democracy Project, a national think tank competition in partnership with The New York Times, awarded its first-place prize earlier this month to a team that included two UNO public relations students. Read more.

UNO Printing Services Closed Today for Inventory

UNO Printing Services is closed today, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for its annual inventory. It will reopen Tuesday, July 1, and will resume regular summer hours:

- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Carillon Concert Set for July 4

The bells on the UNO campus will ring in honor of America Friday, July 4, in conjunction with a carillon concert set for 9 a.m.

UNO carilloneur James Johnson will perform a 30-minute concert of patriotic melodies. The event is free and open to the public. Read more.
