Dr. Walsh, Nine Other Mavericks to Receive NCC Honors
Omaha physician Mike Walsh, who has shared his services with the UNO Athletic Department for more than 28 years, has been named one of the Noel Olson Volunteer of the Year honorees by the North Central Conference (NCC). Updated Renovation Changes Close Majority of Third Floor in Criss Library
Criss Library is proceeding with the second phase of renovation. During this time, the third floor will be closed for all patrons, with the exception of the new addition which will remain open on all three floors. Access to this area is only available from the north stairs and elevator.
In order to accommodate patrons' needs, the circulation desk has paging request forms available. Library staff will pick up and fill requests every two hours during regular summer operating hours, beginning at 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, and noon Saturday and Sunday. Items requested will be held at the circulation desk for 48 hours.
The Criss Library staff apologizes for the inconvenience and will strive to limit disruptions.
"Consider This" to Highlight Men's Healthcare
Gov. Dave Heineman has proclaimed June 9-15 as Men's Health Week in Nebraska. Raising awareness about nutrition, fitness and regular medical visits are goals for organizers.
Coming up on the next edition of "Consider This" a more assertive approach to men's healthcare will be highlighted, as well as an inspiring story from a young man who is winning his battle against testicular cancer. Host Cathy Wyatt's guests will include Rob Rhodes, a family doctor for SW Family Physicians, David Corbin, professor of health education and public health at UNO, and Tony Young, cancer survivor.
The program will air tonight, June 12, at 11 p.m. on NET1.

myMail Brown Bag Lunch Demonstrations June 13
Information Technology Services (ITS) will upgrade myMail (Lotus Notes) to version 8.0 this month. To prepare for this new version, ITS staff will offer a final Brown Bag Lunch Demonstration Friday, June 13, focused on Lotus Notes 8.
The Brown Bag takes place in the Milo Bail Student Center U mon hon Room from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. No registration is required for this session.

13th Annual UNOAI Golf Classic June 16
The UNO Aviation Institute (AI) will host its 13th annual UNOAI Golf Classic on Monday, June 16, at Shoreline Golf Course, 210 E. Locust St. Carter Lake, Iowa. The golf classic is a fundraiser for student scholarships with all proceeds supporting UNOAI scholarship programs.
Cost is $75 per person or $280 for a foursome and includes lunch, dinner, tournament gift and golf. Lunch and registration begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. UNOAI will also hold a silent auction at the event. A few of the items included in the auction are:
- Batting helmet signed by the 2008 Arizona Diamondbacks;
- Commemorative 500th homerun baseball bat signed by Ken Griffey Jr.;
- 8X10 signed picture of Mark Grace;
- 8X10 signed picture of Alex Gordon;

Summer Permit Parking Available in Church Lot
UNO employees with faculty/staff parking permits can park in the St. Margaret Mary's Church parking lot at 6116 Dodge St. this summer. Parking will be available there in UNO-designated lots through Friday, Aug. 22.
During the fall and spring semesters, parking at this location remains limited to student permit holders. Night-only permits will not be honored until after 12:30 p.m.
