This Week in Campus History

The Dec. 10, 1971, The Gateway reported that the Catholic, Lutheran, and United Protestant Campus Ministries were to hold a weekend retreat Jan. 7-9. Those who attended would participate in exercises that focused on building community, introspection and making decisions within everyday life. Although the majority of retreat attendees would be university students, the event would be open to the public, as well. The location of the retreat was the O' Donnell Center near Hummel Park in Omaha and it was sponsored by the University Religious Center.

Hi-tech Classroom Reimaging Set for Dec. 18

In order to update software, ITS (Information Technology Services) has announced a routine reimaging of computers in more than 120 hi-tech classrooms across campus. Beginning Monday, Dec. 18, all computers in ITS hi-tech classrooms will be reimaged (or returned to their original configuration).

During reimaging, any programs or files that may have been added to the computer during the semester will be deleted.

To safeguard files, Tony Baker, manager of multi-media technologies in ITS, recommends that faculty and staff utilizing hi-tech classrooms should create a backup of all data via myFolder or a flash drive by Friday, Dec. 15.

If you are not sure if your classroom will be affected, a list of ITS hi-tech classrooms can be found at http://its.unomaha.edu/hitech.php.

For more information concerning the hi-tech classrooms or operational training, contact ITS Customer Services at 554.HELP (4357).
