The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree is one of the nation’s oldest for students 21 or older. Awarded to over 22,000 students since 1951, all courses are taught by University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) faculty. Students must meet the same rigorous standards as those in UNO’s traditional degree programs and, therefore, receive the same quality education.
UNO’s Division of Continuing Studies offers working students a flexible, individualized degree program backed by the faculty and resources of a respected and fully-accredited university. There are over 40 areas of concentration available to prepare you for the career or advanced degree that best fits your plans for the future. You will receive multidisciplinary, liberal arts education which is highly valued in today’s workplace for developing critical thinking and decision-making skills. You can also use what you have already learned, as the degree allows credit for many workplace training programs, military service schools and most coursework completed at colleges and universities accredited by a post-secondary regional association.
The online Bachelor of General Studies degree is now also available for adult learners who require added flexibility. This fully online and accredited undergraduate degree program will help you thrive in today’s complex, competitive and rapidly changing work environment.
