Biography

Frank Shimerdla holds an M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College and a B.F.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Frank has taught in the Writer’s Workshop since 2004, and he is also an aspiring poet whose work has appeared in Gulf Stream, the Red River Review, Vermillion Literary Project and other journals.  In his free time, Frank enjoys spending time with his six children (Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mary, Lucia, Thomas, and Pio).  Of course, with six children, he especially enjoys the company of his wife, Monica, who helps him feed, care for, and discipline their lot.
