Conference Hotel
The conference will be held at the Radisson University Hotel on the East Bank Campus of the University. We encourage you to support CPTSC by staying in the conference hotel; we reserved a block of rooms and must fill this block in order to make the conference viable. At $129/night, the conference hotel is cheaper than the nearby Days Inn ($149-159 and about six blocks away) and the Holiday Inn ($161.95 and across the Mississippi River). Although both hotels indicate a possiblity for a discount, it is based on availability and not guaranteed..
Aside from an Applebee's and a fancy dining room in the hotel, restaurants of various ethnic flavors are right down the street for lunch, or easily available by bus to downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul for dinner on Saturday. Participants are encouraged to stay over Saturday night to enjoy the complex variety of the Twin Cities, including art, theater, music, hiking, walking or running along the Mississippi River, shopping, professional and college athletics, the University libraries and archives, fall colors, and more.
When making your reservation at the Raddison, identify yourself as a participant of the "CPTSC Conference. To get the conference rate, call the Radisson hotel directly at 612-379-8888 and ask for "in-house reservations.

Some helpful hints about the online hotel reservation form: when registering online for a hotel room in the Radisson (from the conference website), notice that the Rate field provides several choices for the type of room available for reservation for this conference (see screen shot below). The abbreviations represent different kinds of rooms as well as different prices. The numbers used in these designations do not correspond to the number of beds in a room, rather, to the kind of room. See screen shot and the list below for an explanation of these abbreviations.
Only the standard room (STD1) is available at the conference rate negotiated for the conference. Except for the conference rate, the prices may be subject to change..
DLX1=standard deluxe suite ($189.00/night)
DLX2=deluxe suite with Jacuzzi
STE3=Suite 1 ($299.00/night)
STE2=Suite 2 has a sitting area with two beds (not sure about the price)
SUP2=Superior, Club level ($209.00)
SUP1=Superior, Club level ($209.00)
STD1-standard room with one or two beds, same price ($129.00)

Days Inn and Holiday Inn, near campus and the closest ones to the Radisson. These are already listed on this web site (see above, first paragraph, under "Conference Hotel").
