Census Data Webinars
The Nebraska State Data Center Program led by the Center for Public Affairs Research at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in partnership with the U. S. Census Bureau-Denver Region are pleased to announce two identical series of free one-hour training webinars on using census data for community and small area analysis.
To facilitate the high demand for this webinar series, we are offering it twice. Series #1 has been completed and links to recordings of those webinars are at the bottom of this page.
There are still spots available for Series #2, which has the same content. Registering assumes participation in all three webinars of that series.
Census Data Webinar Series #2
Thursday, January 23, 2014
Thursday, January 30, 2014
Thursday, February 6, 21014
10:00-11:00 a.m. CT

A. Navigating census.gov, Quick searches, and Using American Factfinder Effectively
B. Overview of American Community Survey, Tables, and Key Data Products
C. Using the American Community Survey to access social/economic characteristics for small areas (rural and urban)
The focus of these interactive webinars is to learn how to use census data effectively and efficiently for decision-making, planning, grant writing, and community assessments. Participants will be on-line with the instructor and use American Factfinder (online data retrieval tool) to conduct searches using the 2010 Census for population numbers/basic demographics, and the American Community Survey for social/economic characteristics.
