spring commencement.

May 9-10, 2014

UNO’s Commencement Weekend consists of two parts – the Conferral of Degrees on Friday, May 9 and the College Convocations on Saturday, May 10. Each graduating student is encouraged to attend both events.

Commencement Weekend festivities begin Friday, May 9, at 6:00 pm with the Conferring of Degrees ceremony. This university-wide ceremony convenes in the Pep Bowl to celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of our students and faculty. All graduate and undergraduate students attending this event should be in cap and gown. Speakers and honorees from across the UNO community will share their Maverick Spirit, and Chancellor John Christensen will officially confer degrees to candidates from all colleges. The evening concludes with an all-campus reception.

On Saturday, May 10, our College ceremony will be held at 2:30 pm in the Alumni Center Garden. Individual degree candidates will be announced and awarded their diploma covers and your photo will be taken as you walk across the stage and shake hands with the Dean. We will host a reception immediately following the ceremony in the Alumni Center.
