We manage the technological infrastructure at the Peter Kiewit Institute, as well as provide support for classrooms, courses, research, and outreach.

Classrooms and Computer Labs
The Systems Staff maintains the classrooms and computer labs at PKI, which directly support academic and research endeavors. Each lab is unique in function, and customized to suit student, faculty, and staff needs. Students, faculty, and staff may login using their UNO NetID. Lab hours for all non-public spaces are posted outside of each room. For software installation requests, please contact us at any time.
Public lab computers are available on the first floor on the back of the building adjacent to the atrium. Students, faculty, and staff may login to any lab computer using their UNO NetID. For software installation requests, please contact us at any time.
Networks & Connectivity
Virtual Private Network (VPN)
The University has a Virtual Private Network available for anyone with a valid netID. Connecting to the VPN allows you to access your files, connect to network shares, and more. Connect to the UNO VPN with your netID credentials here or see the instructions below. (Note, the links below open in Box, which requires UNO netID credentials)
PKI provides an unencrypted wireless network for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To connect set your SSID to 'UNOGuest'. More information can be found here.
There are two print kiosks available for students, faculty, and staff use located on the first floor behind the atrium. Use your MavCard may use the WEPA print kiosk on the first floor, west side adjacent to the atrium. For more information, see instructions here.
Here's a list (pdf) of all the software applications in our labs. *Note* We have many virtual applications, so if you can't find what you are looking for in Start --> All Programs, just open one of the 'Apps' folders on the desktop.
Dreamspark is program that provides free Microsoft software applications to our students. Full copies of Windows Operating Systems are part of the many pieces of software available through the program. Click the link below to request an account or to view the full list of software.
** Students that are enrolled in a class at the College of IS&T and faculty/staff members at the College of IS&T are eligible.
Microsoft Office (For personal use - these products are available in all PKI computer labs)
Login with your UNO NetID credentials and you may install up to 5 copies of Office for PC or Mac.
