The School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) is dedicated to the vitality of scholarly activity. HPER supports a thriving research and creative activity agenda that spans biomechanics; exercise science; health and wellness; recreation; and modern dance.
The scholarly activity focuses on creating better healthy living opportunities for all. The school is home to the Biomechanics Research Building, the Nebraska Biomechanics Core Facility, the Exercise Physiology Lab, the Physical Activity in Health Promotion Lab, and The Moving Company. The School is recognized for its cutting edge research in the study of human movement, exercise, and health and wellness. A large number of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows from around the world, study under the guidance of highly productive faculty.
The Exercise Physiology Laboratory is located on the first floor of the HPER building on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus.
Our mission to to provide quality teaching of classes in the exercise science, physical education pedagogy, physical activity in health promotion, and athletic training programs; publish faculty and student research in refereed journals in the field of sports medicine and physiology; and to offer a service to the community by providing a special exercise classes and laboratory fitness assessments using state of the art research equipment.
