UNO Theatre productions are presented by our talented students and faculty from the UNO Department of Theatre. Each season typically features one musical or Shakespeare production.
All students, regardless of major, have the opportunity to participate in our mainstage productions each year, directed by faculty or graduate students. Click here for Fall 2015 Audition Information.
Located within the Weber Fine Arts Building, the Black Box Theatre is a state-of-the-art facility. Using mobile seating units the space can be transformed from proscenium to thrust, in-the-round, or stadium-style seating, allowing productions in a wide array of configurations and styles. The theatre is equipped with a full-tension wire grid system which provides ample lighting positions and flexibility. Three balcony levels surround the stage floor providing additional stage and audience locations.
Additional theatre classrooms include a drafting lab, acting studio, directing studio, and dressing and make-up rooms. The scene and costume shops are both professionally equipped for all our construction needs.
