Content and Pedagogy Council seeks to address educational challenges and opportunities by maximizing communication and collaboration among metropolitan area public school districts, academic units at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the UNO Office of Academic Affairs, and additional community stakeholders. The Council serves as a unified voice advocating excellence in education.
In addition, the Council provides oversight and support to the Content Pedagogy Committee in its efforts to facilitate best practices in the initial preparation and continuing education of teachers and administrators. The Council acts as a forum for dialogue among colleges and academic affairs personnel, P-12 educators, and business and civic leaders for the enhancement of learning in the metropolitan area.
The Council is co-chaired by the Senior Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs and a superintendent from a Metropolitan Omaha Educational Consortium (MOEC) school district. Other university members of the council include: the Associate Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs-Technology; the Associate Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs; and the Deans of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Business Administration; Communication, Fine Arts and Media; Information Sciences, Technology and Engineering; and Public Affairs and Community Service. School and community members include: an elementary and a secondary school principal; a representative of the Chamber of Commerce; and other community representatives.
