Jerry Deichert, MA

Jerry is the director of the Center for Public Affairs Research at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he is also manager of the Nebraska State Data Center. An expert on small-area data, Jerry has published numerous articles and annually makes dozens of presentations across the state. He also serves as chair of the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board.

Scott Larson, CFRE

Scott is a campaign manager at Paul J. Strahwecker, Inc., consulting primarily in the area of capital resource development. He has more than 12 years of development experience including work in health care and religious philanthropy. Scott previously served as director of development for the Madonna Foundation.

Jodie Nolan, CFRE

Jodie is vice president of gift planning services for Paul J. Strawhecker, Inc. She has over 20 years of development experience associated primarily with child welfare organizations, higher education, and healthcare institutions. Jodie has served as national director of major gift and /planned giving for Boys Town, as vice president of institutional advancement for the College of St. Mary (Omaha) and as director of development for the Child Saving Institute. 

Frank Shimerdla, M.F.A.

Frank serves as Director of Resource Development for the AIM Institute where he leads grant development efforts. With more than 13 years of experience in grant writing, he has written successful proposals garnering more than $40 million from federal, state, local and private fudning sources.

R. Todd Simpson, CFRE

Todd is executive director of the Peru State College Foundation & Alumni Association. He previously served as director of development for Omaha Home for Boys where he was responsible for the Home's entire development effort, including five million direct response solicitations each year and managing a database of more than one million names. Todd is a member and past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Nebraska Chapter and the Nebraska Chapter of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. He has presented more than 50 seminars on fundraising.

Paul J. Strawhecker, MPA, ACFRE

Paul is president of Paul J. Strawhecker, Inc. Paul's career spans over 30 years in managing fundraising programs throughout the country, generating over $200 million in annual giving, planned giving and capital campaigns. Paul started Boys Town's planned giving program, was responsible for the City of Omaha's social service programs and served as vice president for a 75-hospital management group and a university system. 

Eileen Wirth, Ph.D.

Eileen is chair of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Creighton University. She is a former reporter for the Omaha World-Herald and a former public relations official for Union Pacific Railroad. At UP, she served on the regional advisory committee for the Union Pacific Foundation. Eileen has been a public relations consultant and volunteer for many groups. She is a former president of the Omaha Library Board and is vice president of the Omaha Public Library Foundation. She is also a board member of Omaha Press Club Journalism Education, Inc., and the Cathedral Arts Project. She has been heavily involved in volunteer public relations and development work for Marian and Creighton Prep high schools, St. Cecilia's Grade School and the Omaha Public Library. Eileen is the author of three books including The Omaha Experience, written for the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, and Catholic School Public Relations Cases, published by the National Catholic Educational Association.
