UNO Television Staff

UNO Television's professional staff puts many years of real-world, industry experience to work with students who are pursuing a career in visual media.

Our staff members have worked extensively in key facets of local news, local / agency commercial production, corporate media and free-lance sports / event production. With these years of industry experience in virtually every aspect of broadcasting and video production, UNO Television's professional staff understands how to create video productions that meet the needs of each specific project.

Our professional staff responds to the varying needs of the UNO campus and the greater community by creating distinctive, high-quality original programming. UNO Television's professional staff offers student crew members valuable training and mentoring on a daily basis. UNO Television productions would not be possible without our students and staff working together as a team. Twenty to thirty students work on UNO-TV Crew each semester in paid, part-time positions. The student crew members are an integral part of every UNO-TV project. Jobs on TV Crew provide students a great stepping-stone to employment with local television stations.

Whether working with UNO-TV Crew, on UNO-TV programs, or supporting students in class projects such as The Omaha News or Inside Art, our staff is uniquely suited to give students on-the-job training and insights into the demands of professional broadcasting. These productions give communication students hands-on experience and allow faculty to stay in touch with the production side of the business. Students have opportunities to work on projects including half-hour series, various education/information programs and documentary productions. TV Crew members get day-to-day practice in camera, lighting, audio, control room and field production operations under the direction of our staff. UNO-TV staff mentoring makes sure students practice and refine the skills they need to compete in an ever-changing, highly specialized workplace.
