About CFAM

The College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media (CFAM) was created in 2005 by uniting the School of Communication, KVNO Classical 90.7 FM and KYNE-TV with the departments of Art & Art History, Music, Theatre and Writer's Workshop.

As part of a metropolitan university, the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media strives to provide innovation and leadership through programs designed to meet student needs, and appeal to a wide range of people. Cooperative programs with existing organizations in the community and region, utilizing the talents of local professionals, give the college its special character and vitality.

The college offers programs in art history, broadcasting, creative writing, journalism, music, speech communication, studio art and theatre. Featuring a wide variety of exhibitions, broadcasts, performances, concerts and readings, the combination of theory and practice within the college provides students with enriching experiences that make the difference between obtaining a degree and getting an education; between knowing and understanding. Our nationally known faculty of artists, performers and scholars provide innovative instruction in small, informal classroom settings. CFAM is the home of creative expression at UNO. Simply put, It’s all here.
