March 3 - Mohawk Girls, a film by Tracey Deer

Mohawk Girls, intimately captures the lives of three exuberant and insightful Mohawk teenagers as they face their future.
March 10 - The Gender Chip Project, a film by Helen De Michiel

Essential viewing for student, educators, counselors, policy makers and parents, the Gender Chip Project is being hailed as an important resource for addressing the disparity of representation of women in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.

Enemies of Happiness is a revelatory portrait of this extraordinary freedom fighter and the way she won the hearts of voters , as well as a snapshot of life and politics in war-torn Afghanistan.
March 31 - Quick Brown Fox an Alzheimer's Story, a film by Ann Hedreen
Moderator Dr. Judith Levin
Quick Brown Fox is described as a "moving family journey with an insightful look at the science and politics of Alzheimer's," a disease that now affects more than 18 million worldwide.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Every Thursday in April, simply wear black to show your support. Wear a teal ribbon or a label that says
‘Every 2 ½ minutes”, or “Ask me why I’m wearing black”, to bring more awareness.

Similar to the AIDS quilt, The Clothesline Project puts a human face on the statistics of violence against women.

35 faculty and staff attended this event. Geri Moore spoke on health issues related to women's hearth health. Moore is director of the fitness testing laboratory at Creighton University. For additional information check out the Go Red for Women web site: http://www.goredforwomen.org/.
Events Fall 2006
Voter Registration - September and October - 400 students, faculty, staff and community people were registered during this period. Voter Registration events were held all over campus. Student members from the Pi Gamma Mu, an International Social Science Honorary, as well as students from UNO College Democrats became deputized to register voters and were key to making this a successful project.
These events were held in partnership with UNO's American Democracy Project (ADP). The ADP at UNO seeks to increase the Civic Engagement of its students, staff, faculty and administrators. Its goal is to help fuel the development of an informed and contributing citizenry for the United States in the 21st century. October is Domestic Violence Month and CCSW held the following event: "Know Your Boundaries".
Speakers from both on and off campus, including the YWCA Omaha, the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and multiple campus organizations, were part of this event. The issues highlighted included: intimate partner violence, healthy relationship skills, and the resources on campus and in the community that are available for addressing domestic violence.
