Commencement information for the College of Arts and Sciences.

This May 2013, UNO will continue its graduation tradition intended to weave our beautiful campus setting with our students' personal achievements. These events will take place Saturday, May 4, 2013.

On Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., all UNO's graduates will be invited to participate in the campus-wide University of Nebraska Omaha Commencement. This is where the Chancellor will confer all degrees, and all doctoral candidates will be individually recognized and hooded. This event will take place in the Pep Bowl, the green space just west of Arts and Sciences Hall, and all undergraduates and graduates receiving degrees will join in the Grand Procession into the Pep Bowl. All graduates should arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. in HPER room 128 in academic regalia to participate in this event.

At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, the College of Arts and Sciences will hold the College of Arts and Sciences Commencement, again in the Pep Bowl. Students in their academic regalia should reconvene no later than 10:45 a.m. in Arts and Sciences Hall second floor, lining up behind their department chairs/representatives. Graduates will process out of the northeast front of Arts and Sciences Hall, down the steps, and toward the Pep Bowl. During this ceremony, students' names will be called as they walk across the stage.

From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., all graduates, their families, and guests are invited to join the College of Arts and Sciences faculty and staff for the College of Arts and Sciences Reception in Milo Bail Student Center immediately following the 11:30 a.m. ceremony. This is a great time for your family and loved ones to come and meet the faculty and staff who were so instrumental in helping our graduates achieve this milestone! You can also return your academic regalia at that time.

In the event of rain or inclement weather, the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. commencements will take place in the Sapp Field House. Check http://www.unomaha.edu/graduation for weather updates. Decisions on weather will made by 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

Please let your family and friends attending any of these three events know that parking will be FREE and OPEN on the entire UNO campus (garages included) on Saturday. Graduating students should plan on parking in the parking structure just south of Arts and Sciences Hall for both events.
