arts and sciences gen ed reps.
The General Education Steering Committee will consist of one representative from each college who is designated by the college. The process by which a college selects and interacts with its representative is left to each college. The College of Arts and Sciences will identify one representative to serve as its designated representative, and two alternates who can substitute as needed. There must be one representative from humanities, social/behavioral sciences, and physical/natural sciences.
The primary representative will serve as an ex officio member of the Arts and Sciences Educational Policy Committee. In this way, the primary representative (or designee) will serve as a liaison between the two committees. The primary representative (or designee) will attend College EPC meetings as needed.
Membership on this committee is determined between the College EPC and Dean. The EPC will recommend a minimum of two names from each division to the Dean, who will make the final selection. Initial membership will be staggered for 1, 2, and 3 years. After that, all appointments are for three years. Members can serve 2 consecutive appointments.
