This page's main content:

buildit documentation

widget: 'Headlines'

looks like this:

Why use it?

Do you have news releases? Want headline links for your main page? That's no problem if you use the headlines widget.

How to use it

Essentially the code is a glorified unordered list – and we've all used those before. Copy the code for your page <body>. Make sure that you look closely at the <span class="btns-r"> code. You may need to delete some of that span's content – but do not delete the span itself or its closing tag. If you don't have an RSS feed for your news, delete the <a href="http://www.unomaha.edu/news/rss/enotes.xml" class="btn-rss-noshad"></a> code. If you don't have a main page where all your news releases reside, delete the </a><a href="http://www.unomaha.edu/news/releases/" class="btn-all-list"></a> code. If you do have either or both of those, just change the link URLs appropriately. Note that this example has both the 'all' button and a link to other news.

put this code in your page <body>:

<div id="list_headlines">
  <div id="lselect_headlines">
  <span class="btns-r"><a href="http://www.unomaha.edu/news/rss/enotes.xml" class="btn-rss-noshad"> <span class="hide">RSS Feed</span></a><a href="http://www.unomaha.edu/news/releases/" class="btn-all-list"><span class="hide">All Headlines</span></a></span>

note:

Don't make changes that compromise the designed function or appearance of the widgets. They should look, and behave, the same way no matter where they appear. Changes to font sizes, link colors, and/or other elements cause uncertainty for users, and compromise the visual and functional design that is part of the UNO brand. So please, use the widgets only as they are designed, and only for their intended uses. These widgets are only for use in the right-hand column (04 Main Content Right Column) of the WTA_01 template.
