This page's main content:
For some general information about how the page is organized (yours may differ somewhat), look at the outlined areas in the image below. Find the corresponding number below the image for a description of that page element.

- UNO wordmark. This is an include. This element must be present on all pages that utilize the template. We are not placing many restrictions on your use of the templates, but this one is absolute. Usability studies indicate that users strongly expect that a link to the home page will be place in the upper-left-hand corner of a web page.
- search and quicklinks. This is an include. The 'search' and 'quicklinks' functions, by default, operate at a sitewide (UNO) level. Research indicates that users expect the search function to be located near the upper-right-hand corner of a web page — so we put it there. Note also the links to the UNO calendar, National Weather Service forecast, and Site Index. Under no circumstances should the function of those buttons be changed.
- breadcrumbs. This text represents the user's current location, with each word linked to the appropriate area. It should always start with UNO. For example: UNO > Yoursite > Yoursubset > Current Page. This navigational aid also serves as a quick reference, enabling users to see where they are in the site hierarchy.
- your header. This is the location of your site's main identifier. Its text should be the same on all of your pages.
- tabs. These are the tabs that represent the 'top-level' pages for your site — the primary way in which users will find your main content areas. You will need to customize these using the template. A link to your 'home' should always be the first one.
- inside. This is an include. The 'inside' links are used to show the pages available within a chosen 'top-level' section, and other important pages users might expect to find there. Some links may appear on the 'inside' lists of several, or all, of your pages.
- unomaha. As stated above, this link list is for pages that are related, and ⁄ or might be of interest to users that reside within the UNO system.
- also. This is an include. The 'also' links are for pages and sites that might be of use to users, but that reside outside of the official UNO web presence. For pages that are related, and ⁄ or might be of interest that reside within the UNO system, use the 'unomaha.edu' links list.
- main content area. This is where you main content will reside.
- copyright and contact. This is an include. This is where you'll put your copyright, address, and a link to your 'contact' page or e-mail address.
