Bravo! - Tyler Davis Tyler, |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus and team Lowell, just a follow-up to our discussion this morning and another thank you to you and your team for jumping on the situation that was pointed out to us by a neighbor about the condition of the land next to the First Christian Church lot. Your efforts were outstanding!! The neighbor sent the Chancellor a nice follow-up note that read: |
Bravo! - David Taylor Lowell, |

Bravo! - FMP Team John, |
Bravo! - Dan McDermott I want to thank you for all of your patience and gifted talents and knowledge that you have given to this campus, and all of the great assistance you have afforded the custodial staff without blinking an eye, on top of your regular work schedule. |
Bravo! - Troy Romine Troy, |
Bravo! - Troy Romine I’d like to take a few minutes to let you know how pleased the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) has been with two special lunches recently catered by Troy Romine. The lunches are part of three individual interview days for DCS Academic Advisor candidates visiting UNO. Two interview days were held last week and our final interview day (with lunch) is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, November 20. |
Bravo! - Dave Nielsen and Dean Pol On November 5, 2012, I reached out for charity: Would someone have some “squares to spare” for the Child Care Center’s use? They were in need of some carpet to cover their staff break area. I requested (46) 24” square carpet tiles. Within an hour of that request, Dave Nielsen and the College of Business said “YES!” |
Bravo! - UNO Security Hi Paul, |
Bravo! - Diane Sunde Hi Diane, |
Bravo! - Laurie Gantnier
Ed, |
Bravo! - Betty Channel, Joe Hobza, Frank Burton, Mark Dober, LeRoy Rahn, Sharon Botos, Randy Jensen
Betty and her coworkers maintain the cleanliness of my office, PKI 356A, and most if not all of the Peter Kiewit Institute. They always have a bright attitude and keep everything in order. Betty is very friendly. |
Bravo! - Bill Conley & Stan Schleifer Bill & Stan: |
Bravo! - Stan Schleifer, Pat Wheeler, Tyler Davis, and Paul Kosel
Bill [Conley], I wanted to just say “great job!” |
Bravo! - Angie Patton Thanks so much for all of your help getting the Add Health remote initiative up and running! Thanks for your patience and assistance with all of the back and forth. Thanks for facilitating everything with IS, answering questions, and chasing down the answers when you didn’t have them readily available. I’m excited to try it out. |
Bravo! - Officers Jason Newman and Chris Navarrete
Dear Paul [Kosel], |
Bravo! - Mike Schmidt Yesterday I was with Herb Sklenar of Birmingham, Alabama, a 1952 alumnus and generous scholarship donor supporting the UNO College of Business Administration. He indicated he had recently been in touch with Mike Schmidt, Manager of the UNO Bookstore. Herb was trying to get a copy of UNO’s History book from 1908-1983. Mike was very helpful and responsive to Herb—getting the book mailed to Herb in short order. Herb mentioned this to me yesterday and was very appreciative. |
Bravo! - Brian Kolbe, Christina Davenport, Marty Furmanski, Robyn Adkins Ed [Johnson], |
Bravo! - Tim Williams, Jody Johnson, Stephen Juarez, John Chandler, Meuang Mychackavane, Helen Burton I wanted to send you a brief note about the custodial staff in Arts and Sciences. They are WONDERFUL!! |
Bravo! - UNO Campus Security Hi Paul [Kosel], |
Bravo! - DSC Custodial Staff Mr. [John] Amend, |
Bravo! - Larry Morgan and Wayne Miller BRAVO and Thank You to Larry Morgan and Wayne Miller, Facilities Management Division for their efforts in researching, designing and coordinating the installation of energy efficient lights and infrastructure in the East Parking Garage. For years the lower level of the East Garage has been considered an unattractive option to those needing to park on the east or central part of the Dodge Campus. The lighting project that is complete in the lower level and progressing to the mid-level has made the parking structure look bright, welcoming and safe. |
Bravo! - Angie Aday, Jason Glass & Heath Bertelsen Angie, Jason & Heath, |
Bravo! - Tammy Goldsberry & Peggy Raub I want to thank you both for your excellent work in designing modifications to the UNO student invoices. I discussed and presented the samples yesterday at the Chancellor’s Cabinet meeting and the new format was ENTHUSIASTICALLY supported! Chancellor Christensen specifically wanted me to express his appreciation for your efforts. |
Bravo! - Betty Channel Mr. [Edward] Johnson-- I just wanted to send a thank you to your crew at the HPER Building. Last weekend, my husband and I were
in charge of the hospitality room for the Swim Omaha Swim Meet held at your facility. We of course had to bring in
food, water, beverages, snacks, etc. for the weekend to feed a number of people. |
Bravo! - Marilyn Brown Congratulations to Marilyn Brown for being recognized as a “Member of Excellence” by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). IAAP is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Their mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development. |
Bravo! - Mollie Anderson A “world of thanks” – quite literally – to Mollie Anderson on behalf of all the international students she hosted at her home this past weekend! Nearly 40 students from around the world spent a wonderful afternoon and evening on the lake with home-cooked food, boat rides, a scavenger hunt, bonfire, s’mores, and fireworks. It doesn't get much better than that! It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the academic year and the kick-off of summer. It was also the perfect way to introduce these students to the “good life” we enjoy in Nebraska and in the United States. |
Bravo! - Rosemary Conway Good afternoon, |
Bravo! - Alondra Cardenas and Bobby Marshall Ed [Johnson]: |

Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus Lowell, |
Bravo! - Paul Kosel, Ron Hancock, Nathan Evans, Cody Haner, William Dussetschleger, Jason Glass, John Workman, Debra Brozak, Edward Johnson, Gary Kuerten, Mario Valadez, William Dunn, John Chandler, John Morgan, Timothy Williams, Tom Waz, Joshua Owens, Benjamin Holloway, Helen Burton, David Meradith, Randy Jensen, Marc Elder, Phillip Beard, Larry Morgan Thank you! |
Bravo! - Sharon Larsen & Troy Romine Thank you for efforts related to the 4th annual Student Research and Creative Activity Fair, held last Friday, February 10, 2012, in the Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC). |
Bravo! - Jim Ecker & Parking Staff Dear Jim, |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus & Staff Lowell, |
Bravo! - John Amend, Larry Morgan, & Staff
I want to personally thank you and your staff for assisting in getting the Center St Campus Indoor Facility repaired and operational in such a quick and timely manner. When you consider everything in the indoor facility had to be disassembled and removed and the dome taken down on Monday, and it was repaired on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on Wednesday morning the dome was ready to be inflated and by 5:00pm it was up with all the lights installed, the batting cage and goals reassembled and ready for use was truly amazing. Please let your staff know how much I appreciate all their hard work and dedication. |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus & Staff Lowell, |
Bravo! - Mike Grube, Andrew Buker, & Seth Korber
A big thank you goes out to Mike Grube, Andrew Buker and Seth Korber for their assistance with bringing Mail Services back on line. We updated our metering program to reflect the new postal rates implemented January 22 but our software provider failed to provide adequate information prior to the update. Through these gentleman's efforts we were able to break through the confusion and bring our server back on line. Thank you again for your quick and appropriate response to our needs. |
Bravo! - Mike Boettcher Mike, |
Bravo! - Jim Welch (Wally), Stan Schleifer, and John Amend
Wally, Stan & John, |
Bravo! - Evelyn Gould Bravo to Evelyn Gould in Mail Services. I came to her with two Christmas gifts to be mailed and it turns out that my gifts weren't mail ready. She quickly and creatively came up with a solution that enabled me to get the gifts mailed efficiently and saved me a bit of money as well. She is always a pleasure to work with! |
Bravo! - Kathy Hartle & Mike Burton
Dear Stan, |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus and team Many thanks to the UNO employees who keep our parking lots, sidewalks and steps clear of snow and ice. On a recent cold, snowy day, I walked from Elmwood Park to the Arts and Sciences Building. I could tell the difference the moment I set foot on UNO property. The sidewalk was scraped clean of snow and was sanded. I could walk with confidence -- no fear of slipping on ice. Again, many thanks. |
Bravo! - Larry Adler
I recently needed a doorway widened to comply with ADA regulations at the Welcome Center. Because of the age of the building and it's existing construction, modifying the doorway was especially difficult. Larry Adler did a beautiful job and you'd never notice that it had been modified if you weren't aware that it had been. |
Bravo! - John Fiene and Staff Bravo to John Fiene and his staff for their hard work resulting in UNO being named an Energy Star Top School for IT Sustainability. This is wonderful!! |
Bravo! - Mark Belson
Mark, |
Bravo! - John Rossing John told me today about his tulip project. He and his students planted thousands of tulips on campus recently. Next spring, when the snow is slowly fading away, the fruits of their labors will make us all glad. After his pre-planned flower beds were planted, he gave each volunteer a handful of bulbs and told them to surprise him. I thought you might like to know what a truly creative resource John is for our campus. My world is a better place because of John. |
Bravo! - Marilyn Brown & Laura Lamblin
Thank You for all of the support both of you provided to me and the committee throughout this process. |
Bravo! - Brian Bollich, Barb Treadway, Carol Ebdon, Ann Oatman, Lynn Stephenson, Julie Totten, Ken Hultman, Jim (Wally) Welch, Jeff Elliot, Pam McCright, and Carmen Maurer I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for serving on the UNO Pouring Rights Committee and conducting a very effective and successful RFP. Your work on this project was very valuable and will benefit this campus over the next 10 years. |
Bravo! - Sharon Larsen & Becky Karel
Sharon & Becky, |
Bravo! - Thomas Wallace
Thomas, |
Bravo! - MBSC Staff & Custodial Staff
The College of Education hosted approximately 400 people at the Middle Level Conference (October 18) and an additional 400 at the Nebraska FEA Conference (October 20). We could not have done so without the support of your facility staff, food service workers, and custodial staff. Your staff helped to make each person feel welcome on the UNO campus. |
Bravo! - David Sample Thank you so much for putting up my blinds. They were up within hours of the request being made. I'm so much more productive now. You rock David! |
Bravo! - Barry Ray
A big thank you to Officer [Barry] Ray, who helped me this morning. I locked my keys in my car and he came to my rescue! He was professional, courteous, and persistent (my unlock button wasn't cooperating). He got my car unlocked and I was on my way. |
Bravo! - David Sample I just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH for fixing my cabinet doors. They look so much nicer having the one connected and having them all squared. I really appreciate your effort and attention to detail. Greatly appreciated. Again my thanks! |
Bravo! - MBSC Staff
Just a note to let you know that Convocation would not be possible without the efforts, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile that is always the case with the MBSC staff. When the rest of us are running around, pulling out their hair, Sharon, Wally, Mike, Troy and the crew are always working quietly behind the scenes to make everything run like a well-oiled machine. Couldn't do it without them and as I've told them, I wouldn't want to.....another great job this morning at convocation. Thanks. |
Bravo! - Esther Scarpello & Tim Rochford Thank you Esther and Tim for all of the extra ordinary efforts you made to help the University achieve these results [for the Dependent Eligibility Audit]. Thank you for your perseverance, the results prove it was worth the effort. I hope you take pride in the results because they would not have been achieved with out you. |
Bravo! - Wally Welch and the Welcome Week 2011 Committee
A sincere thank you to the Director of the Milo Bail Student Center, Wally Welch for his generous sponsorship of Welcome Week 2011! The day and evening events were well attended and a huge success and a great start to the United Way campaign. |
Bravo! - Tammy Goldsberry Tammy: You are amazing! You've made Krishna's day and ours, too. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your finding a solution. |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus Thank you Lowell for all of your work and your staff's work to make it a great environment for our game. We had almost two thousand fans there and alot of positive feedback from everyone. Thanks again for your time and effort.
|
Bravo! - Dave Daniels Dave Daniels helped out with the UNO table at the Corporate Cycling Challenge this year. Our team was larger than in previous years, and I believe experienced a cohesiveness in large part because of Dave's role. While Dave didn't cycle himself in the challenge, he 'manned' the UNO tent. He handed out encouraging words, as well as water, water bottles, bags, and snacks. He gave us all a great experience by dedicating his Sunday to be somewhere he didn't have to be. |
Bravo! - Tom Waz
Tom had already left UNO last Friday but I called him on his cell phone and he took care of my request. Tom and his guys were very helpful at the last minute on a Friday afternoon and I really appreciated their efforts. |
Bravo! - Larry Morgan and Dave Meradith Larry and Dave |
Bravo! - Mike Milone Mike, |
Bravo! - Ken Hultman and Kathy Pfeiffer Ken, thanks for another very constructive and enjoyable session in the annual reconciling of the IS&P budgets this morning. it's amazing how much fun you inject into anything connected with budgets and accounting. Kathy, thanks for the input you provided in your usual cheery style. |
Bravo! - Edna McAlister Recently I have had some renters use the space in Strauss PAC and they were very pleased with Edna. They sent me an email and it stated:
"We also wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Edna McAllister. Please let her boss know that was incredibly warm and welcoming and a great steward of the university. We asked her to talk with our girls briefly about taking care of the facilities, and she was SO positive and welcoming to them, as well as making sure they knew what was expected of them. She was great to work with!" |
Bravo! - Ed Johnson and staff Mail Services would like to give Environmental Services a Bravo for their efforts to clean and wax our office floors, especially Edward Johnson and his crew for the extra mile, or two. Our area is subject to so much outside influence from mail carts and surplus property, it was truly a job well done. Thanks to everyone who make our buildings a clean and safe environment. |
Bravo! - Percilla Rodarte I am hosting a workshop for academic advisors in Mammel today and tomorrow. I had a car load of items that needed to be taken to room 324. Perscilla was TERRIFIC in helping me find, load and move a cart to the room. I do not know what I would have done without her! |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus and staff As I was walking to the garage, and looking west I was struck by how gorgeous the campus is this summer. Despite the construction and projects which can't be helped, the pep bowl and other grassy areas were freshly mowed, the flowers blooming, no litter, just simply beautiful. Not every campus looks this way, and it doesn't happen by accident. So high five to the grounds crew for a stellar job. |
Bravo! - Jim (Wally) Welch and Sharon Kay Larsen Larry and Stephanie Schroeder are extremely appreciative of all that you and your staff did for the Memorial Service for Andrew. They said there was not one thing they would have changed and are grateful for all of the support shown to them and their family. |
Bravo! -John Leed and UNO Catering Staff Hi Bill [Conley]. I just wanted to let you know that your wonderful catering staff (John Leed and others) served hors d'ouvres at my daughter's wedding. and they were fantastic (both the food and the staff)! The wedding was at Soaring Wings winery so they had to bring absolutely everything and cope without a real kitchen. Everyone who attended raved about the food! I know it's nice to hear good news once in awhile, so I wanted to be sure to let you know. I hope all is well with you! |
Bravo! -Wally (Jim) Welch and Commencement Staff Wally, kudos to you and all involved with commencement. I thought the day went very, very well...particularly impressive with the large number of graduates. Congrats...and thank you! |
Bravo! -Randy Jensen Randy (Jensen),
|
Bravo! -David Ross Congratulations to David Ross, UNO Landscape Services Groundskeeper, Facilities Management and Planning. Lowell
|
Bravo! -David Meradith I would like to recognize Dave [Meradith], UNO Chief Engineer – Facilities Management & Planning, for the successful accomplishment he has achieved which is something that so few will ever attempt and even fewer will successfully complete. This Friday May 6, 2011, Dave will receive his Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering. What separates Dave from others is that he started this program over 8 years ago while working full-time at UNO. I think that we can all agree that the task of balancing college classes while working full-time with a family is no easy task.
|
Bravo! -Ernie Greenwald and Rich Furmanski Ernie [Greenwald] and Rich [Furmanski] I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for a job well done cleaning the Trophy Cases at the Field House for the Women's walk. This is a tedious and time consuming process. You guys displayed the initiative not only to clean the cases but to arrange the trophies in an orderly manner. Your efforts definitely made a positive impression to those walking thru the main atrium of the Field House attending this event.
|
Bravo! - Carol Bach, Tracy Lewis, Anthony Scott and David Kimble Ursula...I am writing to let you know of the hard work of Carol Bach and Tracy Lewis (and Anthony Scott) to make the Dance Lab "shine" during our performances today for "The Moving Company." Of course, I couldn't do any of this without David Kimble (Supply Control Supervisor, HPER) who has helped me design the lab and surrounding rooms to meet the needs of all of our concerts over the years. I so appreciate the dedication to keeping the Dance Lab and classrooms in tip-top shape and the ongoing help of all the custodial staff. Thanks so much...Josie Thanks so much.... Josie |
Bravo! -Lowell Neuhaus
Thanks Lowell [Neuhaus] for taking care of the small tree outside the CPACS Dean's office window. Now the tree looks correct. Looking out our windows at the Performing Arts Park the green grass carpet, flowering trees and evergreens are absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much!
|
Bravo! - John Amend, Lowell Neuhaus and All Who Worked on Effort Great job, John (Amend), Lowell (Neuhaus) & all who worked on this effort! Catie added a picture and a nice write-up on our main (green) page http:www.unomaha.edu/green and on the news link.
Patrick |
Bravo! -Jim Allen
Lowell, I just wanted to let you know that everything went great with the Maverick Stampede on Sunday. The course was perfectly mowed and the grass was in good shape. Thanks so much for meeting out needs. Jim [Allen] did a great job!
|
Bravo! - John Leed and Sharon Larsen Thank you again for the wonderful service during the 3rd annual Student Research and Creative Activity Fair, held last week in the MBSC. John and the catering staff provided great service: quickly, efficiently, and with enthusiasm. I appreciate how easy these folks made carrying out the Fair events in the MBSC over the course of three evenings. They are wonderful to work with and represent UNO well! |
Bravo! - Jim Ecker and Parking Enforcement Staff
Jim and his colleagues were helpful and patient as they assisted in procuring parking for our community judges during the 3rd annual Student Research and Creative Activity Fair. The judges--from the private and non-profit sectors--remarked how nice it was to pull up to UNO, park, and head directly into the building for the Fair events. Jim and his staff ensured this was possible.
I appreciate their handling of this key detail for bringing our community supporters to campus! |
Bravo! PKI Custodial Staff Hi Randy [Jensen] and Edward Johnson], |
Bravo! - Laron Chatmon Ed [Johnson], |
Bravo! - Cathy Pettid and Human Resources Thanks to Cathy Pettid, Counseling Center, and Human Resources (especially Esther Scarpello) for organizing and carrying out the Stress Management: A Holistic Approach workshop earlier this week. |

Bravo! - Environmental Services Lowell, |
Bravo! Tom Herman and Mario Valadez Edward, |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus and team Lowell, |
Bravo! - Wayne Miller, Don Smith, Facilities Maintenance and Utilities, John Folker, and Campus Security On Saturday December 11, 2010 Wayne, Don and John responded to a fire in Allwine Hall at 930 PM. The fire turned out to be one of the building transformers for Allwine Hall. Through their quick response the appropriate staff and contacts were made and local contractors were contacted to restore temporary power to the Allwine by 2300 AM Sunday morning. All this occurred with wind chills below -10 degrees outside. Thanks to all UNO staff and Electric Company of Omaha for their quick response to a potential disastrous situation. |
Bravo! - Helen Burton I am writing this e-mail because I believe that the housekeeper who takes care of EAB 202 [Helen Burton] should be commended for her honesty. I came to work early on Tuesday, January 4, and found on my desk a $5 bill with a note from Helen saying she had found it on the floor next to my desk. Five dollars is quite a bit, what with today's economy, and I believe that Helen should be commended for her honesty. I had assumed that I had already spent it and was pleasantly surprised to have it returned to me. |
Bravo! - John Amend, Larry Morgan, Ben Holloway and Butch Baker John & Larry, |
Bravo! - Ben Holloway Bravo to Ben Holloway for helping Weitz Construction on a water break at the Roskens Hall site. Ben has been extremely helpful to the project. Ben's efforts on Monday are especially appreciated. |
Bravo! - Pedro Okoruwa Congratulations to Pedro Okoruwa on his certification as a Professional in Human Resources! He successfully completed the course work and passed the certification program test offered by the Human Resources Certification Institute though the Society for Human Resource Management. Well done, Pedro! |
Bravo! - David Ross Bravo to David Ross, Facilities/Landscaping for the FANTASTIC job of clearing the icy sidewalks this morning. This is the first time in years that I have not had to walk that treacherous sidewalk from the parking garage to the Eppley Administration Building praying that I would not fall. After a number if icy weather issues last year where a number of people fell multiple times, I am sure that I am not the only one singing the praises of Mr. Ross' diligence. |
Bravo! - Jason Glass, Jim Allen and Heath Bertelsen John Amend received a call from Bobby Herold, UNO's Head Baseball Coach, expressing his appreciation for the support that Landscape and Grounds staff provided at the Boystown baseball complex this season. Bobby said the assistance that staff provided freed up valuable time for the coaching staff. |
Bravo! - Becky Bohan Brown Thanks Becky for your fabulous work getting our message into eNotes so quickly, you rock ! ! ! |
Bravo! - MBSC Staff The MBSC staff have been extraordinary to work with in preparation and implementation of the 3 Days of Service...we had a fantastic turnout with over 700 volunteers over the 3 days! The check in here on campus went extraordinarily well...we used the newly renovated fireplace area and it accommodated the groups of 100+ at a time easily...and smoothly...Thanks for all the support... |
Bravo! - Ed Johnson, Claudio Benvenuti, Debra Brozak and Ursula Weaver Ed, |
Bravo! - Jan Paap Thanks to Jan Paap, Manager of Grants Accounting, for her efforts in expediting the required signatures on the award document for a Department of State grant to fund UNO's work in Afghanistan. |
Bravo! - Mollie Anderson and Jodi Kava Mollie & Jodi, |
Bravo! - Sharon Ulmar Sharon |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus Hi Lowell - |
Bravo! - John Amend I had a chance today to look in several rooms at UV [University Village]. They all looked great! I can very vividly remember the walk-through we had of UV before UNO bought the facility. What a significant improvement! |

Bravo! - John Bentzinger Mr. [Paul] Kosel: |

Bravo! - Wally (Jim) Welch and MBSC team Wally, my compliments to you and your MBSC team on an excellent event last night...the 2nd annual "Basketball & BBQ" in the ballroom. The food was excellent, as always, and it looked like the students had a great time! |

Bravo! - Marilyn Brown Thank you, Marilyn. |
Bravo! - Jan Paap I would especially like to recognize Janet Paap, Manager of Grants Accounting, who provided this year's survey response for University of Nebraska. The efforts of your staff involved extra work this year to provide information on awards including research funding awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). We appreciate these contributions to NSF's [The National Science Foundation] measurement of academic R&D within the United States. |
Bravo! - Julie Totten, Joe Huebner, Michael Obbink, Marilyn Brown, Laura Lamblin, Lynn Stephenson, John Amend, George Killian, Rita Henry, David Cicotello, Bill Pickett, Madeline Roebke, David Lechner, Rebecca Koller, Ron Withem, etc. At 2:52pm yesterday [3-15-10], I received the e-mail that we had all been waiting a long time for...that being the confirmation that UNO had closed on the purchase of University Village. |
Bravo! - Campus Security Dear Mr. Kosel: |
Bravo! - Dan McDermott We [Facilities] were having problems with the Plant's Vehicle #10 and sent it to the dealership for a quote on repairs.. The rear view mirrors and doors were broken and/or not operating properly. The quote ended up being over $1,500. Mike Brush asked Lowell if Dan [McDermott] could take a look at the truck, which Lowell agreed to. Dan spent time finding replacement parts and doing the repairs himself for a couple of hundred dollars total. |
Bravo! - Linda Mannering and David Cicotello A big thank you to Linda Mannering for providing some very useful information on housing at other institutions...within about a 4 hour time frame this morning. I'm not sure if I would consider myself a "customer" of LInda's, but she certainly provided what I would call Legendary customer service today...very much appreciated as I am on a tight time frame to get ready for this presentation with the Appropriations Committee tomorrow. [2/24/10] |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus, Johnny Hill, Charles Brown Lowell, |
Bravo! - Mike Milone Jim [Welch], |
Bravo! - Sharon Botos & Tom Schmaderer We would like to compliment and thank you for your day to day efforts in the CPACS building. Although the weather has made your jobs more difficult than usual for the past several weeks, you are always cheerful and helpful. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You often put extra effort into your work without being asked. Your attitudes and behavior sets an example for
all of us here at the UNO campus. |
Bravo! -Stella Watts I have a son attending UNO. I've written you in the past about how pleased I am to be able to talk to a real person instead of getting trapped in a phone tree, when I have a problem or need information. It happened again today. I would like to give special praise to Stella in the Human Resources Department. I had to call her twice this morning to ask for help in filling out an application for my brother-in-law, who will apply for a custodian job opening. Both times, she went beyond what I expected. It is so refreshing to be able to speak to a real person through and solve a problem. |
Bravo! - Lanyce Keel & John Fiene Lanyce [Keel] & John [Fiene], |
Bravo! - Yvette Holly and Staff Don [Leuenberger], |
Bravo! - Dick May and Andy Taylor A tremendous BRAVO! to Dick May and Andy Taylor for their great work on getting this [UNO telephone] system implemented. |
Bravo! - Jan Paap Bill, |
Bravo! - Dick May and Andrew Taylor Bill, |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus Your staff did a great job on the snow this morning!! It is a pet peeve of mine that, even though we say the campus is open, often the walks are not cleared or the steps are not scooped. Today everything seemed to be in good shape between the Campanile and Eppley. Thanks! |
Bravo! - Julie Totten Bravo to Julie Totten for SOLP Staff Spotlight! Please read it on the November 2009 SOLP newsletter. |
Bravo! - Russ Smith and BJ Reed Congratulations Russ & BJ on your outstanding work with the NorthStar Foundation and helping them in bringing the Outward Bound organization to Omaha. |
Bravo! - Mollie Anderson
Congratulations on developing an excellent Newsletter! It will be very valuable for the University and is something that I hope all the employees take time to read. I have forwarded it out to our office and encouraging them to review it. I admire all of the positive changes you have brought to the campus, which is reflected in many ways ....including your home page! |
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus
Lowell, I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for all that you and your crew did for athletics this weekend. We appreciate all of the coordination and cooperation that you gave us on Saturday for the football field preparation. Our administration, as well as Coach Behrns, all commented more than once on how well the field turned out prior to the game. |
Bravo! - Sharon Larsen
Bravo to Sharon Larsen who single handedly saved the "food" for a program for Latino Heritage Month. Sharon goes above and beyond and she is always looking out for people. Sharon, you are a true asset to UNO, SOLP thanks you for all of your help and support now and for years to come! |

I appreciate everyone's efforts in making this a great experience for the program [Aim for the Stars]. |
Bravo!- Jim (Wally) Welch Wally, |
Bravo! - Mollie Anderson Mollie, |
Bravo! - Mollie Anderson Just a couple of things. First, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and seeing you 'at work' yesterday. Your reputation preceded you - I have heard many great things about you, but I was very impressed, first-hand, at your management style and ability to phrase things so well. I also very much appreciate the new attitude that it's NOT okay to just show up at work in a bad mood because you can't retire yet, collect your paycheck and go home. UNO is a just fabulous place to work, but there are a few people who, unfortunately, forget why we're here and that our students are our customers, so we DO need to have a customer service-oriented environment. First impressions on a student or parent, or so often in our college, someone from the business community, is crucial - sometimes people forget that. |

Good Morning, Gentlemen, |
Bravo! - Deb Ekeler
Good afternoon Bill, I just thought you should know of quality work done by our support team within Business & Finance. This morning, due to the postal increases, we had to update our G2 program to meet the needs of our University customer base and that of postal service requirements. Our application was interrupted by an error that occurred due to a software issue that our supplier failed to notify us about. |

This was a outstanding student event! The turnout was very strong, better than I might have expected for a first time event...and the food was great!
I hope this was the "first annual Basketball & BBQ"....an event that we can make a tradition and make even bigger and better!
All I can say is well done....and Bravo! |

I want to add my congratulations and thank you to all that participated and made presentations on Friday to the Board of Regents. Bravo!
It was a great day! You made the outstanding work at UNO come to life with the presentations and discussions. I know that I left very energized and enlightened about UNO....I'm sure the Regents did as well! |
Bravo! - Mike Milone, John Leed, Mikki Goulette
I wanted to share the compliment below with you all right away. As I've told you before, I've heard something similar from virtually every external reviewer that we've brought in over the past four years. When I tell them that the team meals will all be on campus, they are skeptical. But at the end of the review, they thank me for the wonderful meals. The reviewers are faculty from universities throughout the country. The academic program reviews are important for the unit under review and the university. The meals are when the teams process the information they've heard, develop questions, and begin drafting the review. It means a great deal that these meals are pleasant experiences. |
Bravo! - Kathy Hartle
Congratulations to you both! Kathy, Thank You! for making the extra effort to recycle ink toner cartridges on campus. That it saves money while
benefitting students, SAC and animal care makes it hard to imagine not recycling! Your efforts help demonstrate for others how to act in a
positive way that makes UNO a better place to work and a good model for our community! |
Bravo! - Campus Security We had a call from an out-of-town mom of a residence hall female student. The student was ill over the weekend. After getting our answering machine,
the student called security. The mom called us back to let us know how nice and helpful the UNO security officer was. The officer made a good
impression for the mom. We do not know the officer's name but the event happened on Saturday, January 1/25/09 around 10:30 AM. It was nice to have
someone let us know they appreciate the services [we offer]. |
Bravo! - Officer Cody Haner and Sergeant Ian Winfield Two campus security officers responded to an accident near the old parking garage near Arts and Science building last night (1/12/2009) at about 5:45PM.
One officer's name was Winfield and the other officer was a tall man, with a beard and red hair. I do not remember the second officer's name [Officer Cody Haner]. I
wanted to thank them for handling the situation very well. They comforted me, kept the angry taxi driver away from me, cleared the scene, and helped
us exchange information. I was very satisfied with their performance and professionalism.

Bravo! - Ann Oatman and Joe Huebner This report [NCAA Report] is out as I understand it and please give my thanks to all who have helped in
putting the information together. Special thanks to Ann and Joe for their many important contributions. |
Bravo! - Diane Mills and Chris Elston Just a short note to let you all know about an achievement by members of our team. Mollie Anderson
|
Bravo! - Lowell Neuhaus Just wanted to say "Thanks" for your crew's efforts this morning. Getting around on campus was much easier than navigating City streets! Patrick Wheeler |
Bravo! - Jerry Anderson I attemptted to email you in September of this year with no success. I would like to show my appreciation to your officers and staff for their hospitality.
I would like to directly show appreciation to Officer Jerry Anderson for his fine service on September 24, 2008. I went into the Eppley Admin Building for two
minutes and return to my vehicle not starting. Ofcr. Anderson was patrolling the Milo Bail parking lot and came over to give jumpstart. He was concern that I
would be stranded with my mother and not be able to get her home. Later that week Ofcr. Anderson asked if I was able to get my mother home safely and get my
vehicle serviced. |
Bravo! - Brian Bollich Hi Brian, I understand you came to the rescue today with our major donors, the Scotts and getting them to the front of the food line and their seats. Thank you! Sara Woods |
Bravo! - Patrick Wheeler Thank you for the outstanding job you are doing on the OPPD project. It looks like the project will be extended
again and it would not have been possible without your great leadership and very effective communication skills.
OPPD is a very demanding partner but also very supportive thanks to your accomplishments. I look forward with great pleasure to your
continued success on this project. Your significant contributions have benefited the university and our community on several levels. Avery D. Schwer, Ph.D. |
Bravo! - Dave Sample Dave, Thanks for the very quick response this morning to help us out with operation of the "cherry picker" (and also getting the 8 foot ladder). Without your help, I'm not sure that we would have been able to get all the lighting set for the opening of the art show this evening. Facilities gets all the complaints when things don't go the way they should or as fast as desired, but you also need to need to hear the positive when your response exceeds expectation. Again, thanks. Bob |
| Bravo! - Mail Room Services Hi Sandra - As you know, ITS had a boatload (around 500) of computers delivered to campus this week. These machines were efficiently delivered to the buildings across campus with the exceptional assistance of Mike Ross, Jayd Janovec, Tim Scott and Mike Burton helped with the unloading. The truck was a big help too. These guys did a great job and we really appreciate it. |
