Funds from the Nebraska Research Initiative supported the Nebraska Biomechanics Core Facility (NBCF) for four years to design and build the patent pending wireless Gait-O-Gram® which is a portable biomedical device that is able to diagnose pathological locomotive bio-rhythms. Our immediate future work will focus on turning this device into a new miniaturized system entirely embedded in shoe insoles. To achieve this goal, we have established several collaborations with the Peter Kiewit Institute and the UNL Computer and Electronics Engineering Department.
