Undergraduate Scholarships for 2011-2012

Dr. Barbara Hayhome Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship

This $1,250 scholarship is awarded to students during their final (senior) year as biology majors, biotechnology majors, or environmental studies majors (life sciences option).  More than one may be awarded each year. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a minimum of 58 credit hours. Application

David Chesneau Memorial Scholarship

This $790 scholarship is awarded to a student during the final year as biology majors, biotechnology majors, or environmental studies majors (life sciences option.) Applicants must have a minimum of 18 credit hours in Biology courses, a minimum of 58 credit hours cumulative, and a minimum GPA of 3.3.  Application

Dr. Merle E. Brooks Academic Achievement Award
in Biology and/or Science Education

This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student majoring in a degree program in the Biology Department or in Biology Education in the Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education at UNO. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 overall and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in all coursework required in the Major.  Candidates desire to pursue a career in the area of plant sciences, limnology (aquatic ecology) and/or teaching biological sciences at the high school level following graduation from UNO.  Application
