Developed cooperatively with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), this degree focuses on molecular, genetic, and cellular biology, and allows students to participate in research within an academic, commercial, clinical, or government laboratory.  This degree prepares students for a variety of occupations in academic or commercial biotechnology, molecular biology, and biomedical fields, as well as healthcare careers.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: The Biotechnology major requires completion of department and college requirements. The current requirements for this degree are found HERE.

INTERNSHIP: One requirement for the Biotechnology BS degree is the completion of a semester-long internship program (BIOL 4550).  The internship is typically taken during the senior year. More information regarding the Biotechnology Internship can be found HERE.

ADVISING:  Biotechnology faculty members provide advising appointments each semester to all Biotechnology majors.  Biotechnology majors have access to a Blackboard organization which lists specific information regarding advising and the clearing of advising flags.  An idealized 4 year degree plan is available for review HERE.
