- Corey Lawson
- College of IS&T
- Worked with Y. Persidsky and G.D. Kanmogne in the Department of Pharmacology
and Experimental Neuroscience at UNMC during the summer of 2005.
- He conducted research related to problems with HIV-infected patients that
presented respiratory complications related to alterations in pulmonary
immune regulation.
- Scott Abboud - College of IS&T
- Worked with Dr. Ahmad at the Durham Research Center at UNMC during
the summer of 2005.
- His research involved gathering all of the genes that are involved
in retinal stem cell development and data basing the information.
- Kathryn Dempsey - College of IS&T
- Worked with Dr. Lawrence G. Harshman in the Department of Biological Sciences at UNL during the summer of 2005.
- The research that she took part in was part of a larger project
entitled "The Search for Virus-Like Copia" and other current issues
in dresophila melnanogaster. She studied and performed experiments
that investigated the genetic, physiological, and other biological
factors that underlie extended longevity in d. melanogster.
- Nicholas Palermo - College of IS&T
- Worked with Dr. Sándor Lovas at the Creighton University Medical
Center during the summer of 2004
- Nick presented a poster entitled “Weakly Polar Interactions in Model
Helical Peptides” at the World Association of
Theoretical and Computational Chemists (WATOC) meeting in Capetown, South
Africa.
- Sarfraz Chandio - College of IS&T
- Worked with Dr. Steven Hinrichs at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center during the summer of 2004
- Sarfraz gave a presentation on his research entitled “Rapid Molecular
Identification of Medically Important Fungi using RFLP Database”
at the INBRE annual meeting in Grand Island, NE.
