Bioinformatics is the use of computers and information science to study genetic information and biological structures. There is an immense and growing need for scientists and managers in this field, especially by the emerging and established biotechnology companies that are taking advantage of the DNA sequence of the human genome.

This website provides information about the field of bioInformatics and about the graduate opportunities that will be offered by the Department of Pathology & Microbiology at UNMC, with support from the departments of Computer Science and Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis in the College of Information Science and Technology at UNO.
