The guest speaker was Dr. Peter Stanchev, a Computer Science professor from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan. He spoke about a technique for making the similarity search process of images in a Multimedia Content Management System more effective. The content-based retrieval process that he spoke about integrates the search on different multimedia components, mainly linked in XML structures. Approximately twenty-five people attended the meeting and free pizza and pop were enjoyed by all.
