Transfer credits are evaluated by the Undergraduate Admissions Office. When you are officially admitted, your records are forwarded to the dean of your college. Every attempt will be made to transfer the maximum amount of previously earned credits. The maximum amount of transfer credit hours that will be allowed from a 2-year institution is 64 semester hours. Credit applicable for one major may not apply to all majors the same way. Only those credits earned with a grade of 'C-' or better from a regionally accredited institution may be applied toward a baccalaureate degree. The responsibility for determining the manner in which transfer credit is applied toward degree requirements rests with the dean of each college.
UNO participates in several articulation agreements with area colleges, including Metro Community College and Iowa Western Community College, which means you may receive credit for courses you have already completed at a previous institution.
