Twelve UNO Ambassadors are selected annually to represent the University at a variety of social and business functions, which are hosted by the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Deans, and other individuals and organizations on campus. Events at which students serve as Ambassadors include receptions, dinners, recruitment open houses, tours, seminars, and commencement.
Ambassadors wear UNO blazers or business casual UNO polo shirts to the activities, and receive a $200 scholarship ($100 per semester) for the academic year in which they serve. Ambassadors are required to participate in at least 5 events each semester.
27 credit hours completed at UNO by May 2008 and a 2.5 GPA
Full-time student status in 2008-2009 school year
Superior communication skills
Strong interest in service to the University
Applications will be available in the office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Eppley Bldg. Rm. 202. Application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, March 14th Two non-scholarship alternate members of the Ambassadors Program also will be selected.
Twenty-five applicants will be chosen for interviews.
