A Great Year for Philanthropy

May 2008

The 2007-2008 school year at UNO is finally over, and what a year it has been! Starting in the fall, we took part in Bounce-a-Thon with Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, to support the North American Food Bank. Next on our calendar was our annual Skit Night that raised money to support the Omaha Ronald McDonald House, and scattered throughout the semester were various game nights and dinners at the Ronald McDonald House. After winter break we began reading at Elementary Schools, volunteering at the Children’s Museum, taking `crafts to the Children’s Hospital, and continued our Ronald McDonald House visits. Our first big event, with the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon, was Jail N’ Bail, which helped raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. We finally wrapped up the year with Just Can It!, done with the men of Pi Kappa Alpha to support the Salvation Army and raise awareness for homelessness. We are also happy to support other organizations’ community service events, and we are very thankful for their support at our events as well. Thank you to everyone who helped us make this such a successful year!
