The Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society is an organization that promotes the field of Sociology. Through financial and moral support, AKD helps students reach their full potential by encouraging intellectual pursuits. This support is in the form of scholarship opportunities, grant money for travel, and the establishment of a network of like-minded scholars. With over 400 chapters world-wide, AKD is an organization with limitless possibilities.

The primary requirement for AKD membership is that a student have a 3.3 GPA in their Sociology coursework. This GPA is what sets AKD members apart from the rest of the group, distinguishing its members as "Honorable". The Alpha of Nebraska Chapter of AKD hopes to broaden its definition of "honorable" by engaging in community activities worthy of such a title.

With our knowledge of today's dynamic workforce, the Alpha of Nebraska Chapter of AKD focused on helping students understand what it takes to succeed. From the college classroom to the capitalist conference room, our members gained critical thinking skills to study humanity for the purpose of service.

Now, with a new generation of AKD Executives, a primary goal remains to increase these critical thinking skills not only in ourselves but in our classmates, our peers, and the community at large. Check out some of our current activities for more information!
