Flying Mavs Win Competition

UNO's Aviation Institute Flight Team, the Flying Mavs, won first place in the 2009 National Intercollegiate Flying Association Region 6 SAFECON competition held Oct. 23 in Norman, Oklahoma. UNO's team was sponsored by Jet Linx Aviation. With 365 points, UNO captured first place and a spot in the national competition. The win marks the first time UNO has won the regional competition.

The Bachelor of Science in Aviation with a specialization in Professional Flight is designed for students who are interested in becoming professional pilots.
This degree program will take a student through a comprehensive general studies program, a core of aviation courses, and flight training from the Private Pilot Certificate to the Certified Flight Instructor Rating and beyond.
