Capt Mark Sheldon, Recruiting Flight Commander
As Recruiting Flight Commander, Capt Sheldon is primarily responsible for cadet recruitment and enrollment in the AFROTC program. He is also an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies teaching the AS100 and AS200 classes. Capt Sheldon graduated from Mississippi State University in Aug 2003 while enlisted and received his commission after completing Officer Training School in October 2003.
He has been a weather officer for 9 of his 25 years in the Air Force, and his assignments include: Kunsan AB, ROK; Offutt AFB, NE (4 times); Keesler AFB, MS (4 times); Chanute AFB, IL; Shaw AFB, SC; and Randolph AFB, TX. Capt Sheldon has been deployed twice, once to Howard AFB, Panama in 1996 as a Weather Forecaster, and once to Bagram AF, Afghanistan in 2011 as the Weather Flight Commander and the Fallen Comrade Coordinator for the 455 AEW. Capt Sheldon completed his Master’s degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University in 2007.
