Newspapers in Curricula event, November 7, 2007

The Newspapers in Curricula project was kicked off November 7 with a presentation by Dr. Carolyn Thompson of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, who discussed her experience with the benefits of integrating newspapers, particularly the New York Times, into university courses. Subsequently, the Newspapers in Curricula core faculty group held its initial meeting with Paul Wilson, New York Times educational representative. The NiC core group will work throughout the 2007-08 academic year to develop newspaper-based curriculum resources.
