Constitution Week 2007

The University of Nebraska at Omaha's observation of Constitution Day included three Civic Participation Project events the week of September 17, 2007. These included a reader's theatre discussion of the Constitution by the Forensics Team and Argumentation and Debate students; "Balancing the Protection of Public Safety and the Preservation of Civil Liberties in a Time of Terror," a presentation at the Durham Western Heritage Museum by Drs. Steve Bullock, Carson Holloway, and Olga Lagotska; and "We The People: New Generation Expressions," an art presentation by students and faculty from Western Hills University Partnership Magnet Center.

The second event, a panel discussion of the balance of personal liberty and national security, was held at the Durham Western Heritage Museum, located in the historic Union Station downtown.

The presentation was held in conjunction with "The Enemy Within: Terrorism in America, 1776 to Today," an exhibit on loan from the International Spy Museum.
