Bachelor's Degree Program
About the BGS
Awarded to over 22,000 students since 1951, the BGS degree is one of the nation's oldest bachelor's degrees for adult learners and is part of UNO's longstanding, rich tradition of serving military and veteran students. It is offered through the UNO Division of Continuing Studies.
Classes are available wherever you are, whether you're on-campus, online, or taking classes at off-campus locations like Offutt.
As a BGS student, you can choose from 50 areas of study to meet your individual career goals or requirements, prepare for graduate school, or satisfy personal interests and aspirations.
To complete the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree, you must satisfy a set of degree requirements.
Get a head start on your degree using what you have already learned. The BGS Degree offers opportunities for applied academic credit from military experience and education, CLEP and DSST examinations, and prior college/university coursework from regionally accredited postsecondary institutions. BGS students receive personalized guidance from professional academic advisors who understand the unique circumstances and needs of adult learners.
