Mr. John Fiene, MPA.

 

Background

Fiene joined UNO in 1991 as Director of Information Technology for the College of Business Administration. Fiene is an UNO alumnus receiving a bachelor’s degree with a major in economics, and a Master of Public Administration from the UNO School of Public Administration. His area of interest is technology in public and non-profit organizations including higher education.

Responsibilities

As Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology, Fiene is directly responsible for campus-wide technology systems. Information Technology Services is a direct report and Fiene works with other campus IT professionals in a network organization as well as through technology oriented partnerships with both academic and non-academic organizations across the campus. Fiene oversees an annual campus RFP process for funding of technology projects, as well the technical development of support systems for Academic and Student Affairs initiatives including the AQIP accreditation process such as the myMAPP series of electronic portfolio systems and the campus datamart.
