Programs of Excellence

Since 2002, the University of Nebraska has requested proposals for Programs of Excellence funding from each of the four campuses. Programs of Excellence (POE) funds are used to improve academic programs of excellence aligned with the long-term interests of the state, consistent with the Board of Regents priority initiatives, and campus priority programs and initiatives. Each year requests for proposals are sent to the campus Chancellors by the NU Senior Vice President and Provost. UNO's Sr. Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs coordinates the campus proposal and selection process. A campus report is submitted each year to NU Central Administration regarding all POE funded proposals since 2002. Through this strategic allocation of resources the University of Nebraska continues to add value to its degrees as well as enhance our contributions to the economic and cultural well-being of the state.
