Background
Fiene joined UNO in 1991 as Director of Information Technology for the College of Business Administration. Fiene is an UNO alumnus receiving a bachelor's degree with a major in economics, and a Master of Public Administration from the UNO School of Public Administration. His area of interest is technology in public and non-profit organizations including higher education.
Responsibilities
As Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology, Fiene is responsible for campus-wide technology systems. Information Services is a direct report. Fiene works with other campus IT professionals in a network organization of partnerships across the campus and in the community. Fiene oversees an annual campus RFP process for funding of technology projects. Coordination and administrative support of campus distance education is a direct report.
