UNO Centennial Gala Celebration

More than 600 people attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Gala Celebration held Saturday, February 21 at Omaha's Qwest Center. The keynote address for the celebration was given by Harvard economist Roland Fryer. Fryer spoke on the challenges facing America's schools.The University of Nebraska Foundation and the UNO Alumni Association hosted the event. Proceeds from the gala go towards establishing two community fellowships at UNO. Students from UNO's Moving Company, Theatre Department and the Chamber Choir performed at the gala. Jim Young, Union Pacific Railroad chairman and UNO alum, spoke at the gala's closing.
