An Omaha native, Mandi Marcuccio arrived at UNO
after graduating from Creighton University in May 2004 with a B.A.
in English and a minor in Communication Studies. Currently, she
divides her time between her responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching
Assistant and her studies as a candidate for the M.A. in English.
Her academic interests are in Rhetoric/Compostion and American Literature,
and she is excited to begin working toward the Graduate Certificate
in Advanced Writing. Outside of the classroom, Mandi loves the distraction
of television, movies, and music, and she even takes time to "read
for fun" once in a while. Her favorite authors are Toni Morrison,
John Steinbeck, and the editors of "US Weekly." She looks
forward to a fun year in Sigma Tau Delta. |

Amanda's enjoying her first year as a Graduate Teaching Assistant
in the English department. In addition to the MA program, she
is completing the graduate certificate in Technical Communication.
Although this keeps her plate full, she enjoys wasting her precious
freetime on a sinfully ecclectic mix of hobbies including graphic
design, video games, media theory and cross-stitch. Having assisted
with the department website and other projects, Amanda jokingly
refers to herself as the department's "token techie."

Angela Glover received both a
B.S. and an M.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She
is seeking her second M.A. at UNO as a candidate in the English
Department where she is a second year Teaching Assistant. Her
academic interests include: Creative Non-Fiction, Composition,
Pedagogy, Service Learning and Childrens Literature. Presently
she is completing the coursework required to obtain the Advanced
Writing Certificate. She has two publications coming out this
fall: a pedagogical piece featuring how to teach the process of
revision while studying the work of Jack London in Eureka Studies
Teaching Short Fiction, and a personal essay in the Sigma Tau
Delta’s fall issue of The Rectangle. In addition she works
as a Writing Consultant and Adjunct Instructor at Metropolitan
Community College. Next year she hopes to begin work on her Ph.D.
When she is not reading or writing, she can be found sharing a
bowl of hot apple crisp and vanilla ice cream with her one-year
old black lab Lucy, or singing Karaoke with her magical pink boa. |
